​If children are in the home, mandatory reports are made about suspected abuse or neglect to the Department of Social Services (828-265-8100).  Whenever it is safe, empower the parent to make this call.

​* Provide information about  what happens when you seek help. (It may be necessary to break the narrative often told by the abuser that if they report something their kids will be taken.)
